I create original paintings and mixed media pieces.  My latest works begin as hand-built stoneware: raised, clustered forms that suggest growth and slow accumulation. Each piece is glazed in layers and fired in my studio, then set into a painted, textured panel. Clay and ground are composed together, so the ceramic seems to rise out of the painted surface. Raking light changes them through the day, deepening the glaze in the hollows and catching on every raised edge. 

All works are original, one-of-a-kind paintings in acrylic and mixed media.
